本周,SIPC小學(xué)部的各個年級都已經(jīng)進入了新的IPC主題單元,同學(xué)們新的挑戰(zhàn)開始了!下周就是非常有趣的西方節(jié)日萬圣節(jié)了,SIPC的同學(xué)們已經(jīng)開始在課堂上準備萬圣節(jié)的物品和裝備,期待!

SIPC Weekly Highlights
KG-G1
KG G1開始了新的主題單元“人體”。這個主題非常有趣,很受同學(xué)們的歡迎。在這個單元中,我們將學(xué)習(xí):身體的主要組成部分都叫什么;人體的五大感覺是什么;我們?nèi)绾文芸?、聽、聞?嘗、觸摸;大腦是如何跟身體的其他部分連接;如何飲食健康和獲得足夠的鍛煉;我們?nèi)绾魏蜑槭裁词褂盟幤?如何計劃和準備一頓健康的飯;我們是否能夠改善世界兒童的健康等等。
本周,我們這個新的IPC單元有一個很棒的開端!我們從一個人的輪廓開始,畫出我們已經(jīng)知道的部位并分別貼上標(biāo)簽。接下來,我們分組組裝了這些骨架。探索我們自己的身體是件很棒的事情,孩子們都樂在其中。
Over the next 4 weeks KG and G1 will be following a unit of work on a theme that focuses on ‘The Human Body’. This unit is very interesting, we'll be ?nding out: What the main external parts of the body are called; What the ?ve human senses are; Why body hygiene is important; How to eat healthily and get enough exercise ; How to plan and prepare a healthy meal; If we can improve the health of the world's children, etc.
This week we have a great start to our new IPC unit. We started out with an outline of a person, drawing and labeling what we already know. Next, we worked in groups to assemble a skeleton!
G2-G3
上周,G2G3的同學(xué)們已經(jīng)開始了新的主題單元 “力量”。這個單元很有意思,我們會探索:力量是什么,力量來自于哪里;摩擦力是什么,我們?nèi)绾问褂媚Σ亮?我們?nèi)绾螠p少或增加摩擦力;我們?nèi)绾螠y量力量;磁鐵和磁力是如何產(chǎn)生的;如何設(shè)計和讓彈珠跑起來;如何添加聲音、光、控制結(jié)構(gòu)機械運動;極端力和危險的力等等。
本周,我們繼續(xù)研究"力",比如了解不同表面上的摩擦。我們使用5個不同的物體做了坡道,每次把坡道抬高1厘米,并提出了“在玩具車移動之前需要把坡道抬高多少”的問題。在開始之前,同學(xué)們每個人都做了預(yù)測。我們研究了5個斜坡,并記錄了汽車開始移動的高度。到最后,大家能夠斷定哪個斜坡引起的摩擦最大,這非常棒。
Over the next 4 weeks those of us in Grade 2/3 will be following a unit of work on a theme that focuses on ‘Forces’. We’ll be ?nding out: What forces are and where they come from; What friction is and how we use friction; How to measure the strength of a force; How magnets and magnetic forces work; How to add sounds, lights and control mechanisms to a structure; About extreme and dangerous forces, etc.
This week, we continued our work on forces by investigating friction of different surfaces. We made ramps using 5 different objects and, raising the ramp 1cm at a time, asked how high we would need to raise the ramp before our toy cars moved. Before starting we all made our prediction. We then studied the 5 ramps and recorded the height at which the car started to move. By the end, children were able to conclude which ramp caused the greatest friction.
G4-G5
G4和G5同樣也開始了新的主題單元 “人體”。在這個單元中,我們將學(xué)習(xí):人類和其他的動物有怎樣的不同;大腦和神經(jīng)系統(tǒng);身體的骨頭和肌肉;人類心臟是如何工作的;人類如何呼吸,我們的肺如何運作;我們從我們父母那里遺傳了些什么;身體是如何飲食和喝水的;我們的環(huán)境是如何影響我們的;最新的醫(yī)學(xué)研究;一個主要的全球健康問題等等。
本周,我們進入了切入點——科學(xué)研究與調(diào)查。同學(xué)們觀察了我們每天喝的飲料里到底有多少的糖!我們正在調(diào)查一些飲料有多不健康!大家在小組合作中找到了很多重要的信息。
Over the next 4 weeks those of us in Grade 4/5 will be following a unit of work on a theme that focuses on ‘The Human Body’. We'll be finding out: How humans are different from other animals; About the brain and the nervous system; About the bones and muscles in the body; How the human heart works; What we inherit from our parents; How our environment affects us, etc.
This week, we got into the Entry Point~ Science Research and Investigation. The class have been looking at how much sugar is in drinks we have every day! We were investigating how unhealthy some drinks can be! The students worked very well in groups to find the important information.
G6-G7
本周語文課上,我們學(xué)習(xí)了1913年諾獎獲得者著名印度作家泰戈爾的《金色花》。孩子們很喜歡泰戈爾的詩,被泰戈爾奇幻的想象深深吸引,忍不住也想用象征的藝術(shù)手法寫一篇送給媽媽的散文詩。同學(xué)們都完成了很棒的作品,我們來欣賞下六年級Carl You和Andy Shan兩位同學(xué)的作品吧!
In Chinese class, we studied the Golden Flower by famous Indian writer Tagore, who won the Nobel Prize in 1913. The children were deeply attracted by Tagore's fantastic imagination and could not help but want to write a prose poem for their mother with symbolic artistic techniques.
